INDIE singer Ethel Cain has shared a lengthy apology for making “shameful” comments online when she was 19.
The now 27-year-old artist opened up about a dark period of her life where she “would have said anything about anyone to gain attention.”

Cain, whose real name is Hayden Anhedönia, shared a link to a Google document where she addressed online rumors accusing her of past racist comments and other gross behaviors.
The American Teenager singer admitted to making disturbing jokes on an anonymous Curious Cat account in 2018, and said “I am truly sorry from the bottom of my heart.”
“This was a chapter of my life I look back at shamefully,” she wrote.
The singer said that when she was in high school, she stood out from her family being a “social justice warrior” but made a stark u-turn after graduating because of an online community she got involved with.
