A FORMER college football quarterback was sent to the hospital after collapsing while coaching his son.
The 33-year-old was coaching his son’s football team at the time of the brutal incident.

On Wednesday, South Carolina iconic quarterback, Connor Shaw needed treatment at a hospital after collapsing while coaching his son’s football game.
The former Cleveland Browns quarterback was rushed to Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital, per The State.
It’s not known what caused Shaw to collapse.
Fortunately, Shaw is in stable condition and in recovery after the incident, per a statement from the City of Simpsonville on Thursday afternoon.
The City of Simpsonville shared an official statement, via email, to The Greenville News, about Shaw’s condition.
“Former quarterback for the University of South Carolina Connor Shaw was coaching his son’s 8U flag football game at Gracely Park on Wednesday when he collapsed about 15 minutes after the game started,” the statement read.
“The Parks & Recreation Department was informed on Thursday that Mr. Shaw is in stable condition.”
Shaw was coaching his son, Decker Drew’s flag football team, at the time of his collapse.
The Georgia native was South Carolina’s starting quarterback from 2010 to 2013.
During that span, Shaw led the school to three bowl victories.
He’s also the winningest quarterback at South Carolina.
Shaw recorded 6,074 passing yards and 56 touchdowns before leaving college football.
He was inducted into the South Carolina athletics Hall of Fame in 2021.
In 2014, Shaw signed as an undrafted free agent with the Cleveland Browns.

However, he played in just one game.
Shaw completed 14-of-18 passes for 177 yards, no touchdowns, and an interception in a contest against the Baltimore Ravens.
After joining the Chicago Bears, he moved on to coaching.
Shaw was the USC quarterbacks coach for a brief period before taking a role in player development.
