FORMER New York Yankees pitcher JT Brubaker has landed a new deal after being designated for assignment last week.
Brubaker, 31, was unable to find an option, cleared waivers and became a free agent just two days later.

Now he has found a new home after signing a minor league deal with the San Francisco Giants.
On his new deal, Brubaker will report to the Triple-A Sacramento River Cats.
Although Brubaker could still have a path to pitch some innings for the Giants, with the team in need of some veteran depth after losing Camilo Doval and Tyler Rogers at the deadline.
Brubaker pitched 16 innings for the Yankees this year, posting a 3.38 ERA over 12 games.
Those efforts came with a 1.188 WHIP and 3.73 FIP.
The pitcher’s last appearance came on August 3 against the Miami Marlins.
Brubaker has been in MLB since he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the sixth round of the 2015 Draft.
But he suffered a setback in his career when he underwent Tommy John surgery in April 2020, missing the entire season.
He was traded to the Yankees in 2024 where he has struggled with more injury issues since.
His move to the Giants is a boost for San Francisco, who will only have to pay him a prorated portion of the league minimum salary for any time he might spend on the big league roster.
