THE father who was confronted by an angry baseball fan dubbed the ‘Phillies Karen’ has broken his silence.
The MLB world reacted with shock on Friday night after the mind-blowing moment went viral.
A wild scramble occurred for a home run ball hit by Philadelphia Phillies star Harrison Bader.
It flew into the stands at the Miami Marlins game, as supporters tried to grab it.
Drew Feltwell could be seen snagging it, before handing it to his young son Lincoln.
The family were at the game celebrating his tenth birthday.
However, he was instantly confronted by a fuming woman who demanded it back.
Stunned, the dad decided to give it to her, causing an angry reaction by viewers and fans.
Feltwell has now spoken out over the incident, revealing he “jumped out of my skin”.
And he revealed he gave her the ball to try and de-escalate the situation.
“Just trying to set an example of how to de-escalate a situation in front of my son, I guess,” he told NBC 10 Philadelphia.
“I thought I had accomplished this great thing.
“But she just wouldn’t stop.”
Feltwell was with his wife, daughter and son at the game.
He added he was “still in disbelief” at her actions.
“I felt like super dad putting that ball in his glove and giving him a hug,” he said.
“Putting the ball in his glove and then taking it back out killed me.
“I hope that ball means a lot to her.”
The father also apologized to Lincoln for handing over the ball.
The ‘Phillies Karen’ was booed out of the Marlins’ LoanDepot Park.
She was also seen arguing with other supporters.
And she was also widely slammed on social media.
Lincoln got to meet his hero Bader after the game.
He received a signed bat and other merchandise.
