THE Cincinnati Bengals could be forced to wait longer than expected for quarterback Joe Burrow to return.
Burrow, 28, is out of action after suffering a toe injury against the Jacksonville Jaguars last week.

Quarterback Burrow has suffered an injury known as turf toe, requiring surgery and a lengthy recovery.
Coach Zac Taylor had been initially optimistic about the star’s return, suggesting a four-week hiatus.
But this now appears increasingly unlikely for the Bengals star.
It has been reported by Jay Glazer on Fox NFL Sunday that Burrow may miss the entire season.
“They’re saying three months, I don’t see three months being an actual timeline,: Glazer said. “I think more so a chance if they make the playoffs.
“But only because it’s Burrow. Somebody else I’d say no. But he has that Mamba Mentality, maybe yes. It’s such a difficult injury to return from.”
Jake Browning, 29, has taken over as the Bengals’ starting quarterback.
Burrow’s injury has forced coach Taylor to bring two additional quarterbacks into his practice squad.
The Bengals have been bolstered as Sean Clifford, 27, and Mike White, 30, have been added to the reserves.
They join journeyman Brett Rypien, 29, in the practice squad.
Browning is expected to remain at quarterback for the Bengals despite his mixed performances.
The replacement quarterback saw the Bengals to a 31-27 victory following Burrow’s injury against the Jaguars.
He throw two touchdowns to keep the Bengals in play after coming on.
Browning then sealed the win with a one-yard run to score with just seconds remaining on the game clock.

Browning managed just one touchdown, passing to Drew Sample in the fourth quarter. to avoid a complete humiliation.
Significant pressure will be on the stand-in quarterback as he looks to retain his place as a starter.
The Bengals remain at the top of the AFC North, despite claiming their first loss of the season.
