Arula clothing has left shoppers ‘devastated’ by the news[/caption]

Arula clothing took to Instagram to announce that after seven years, it would be closing down entirely.

“After seven years, we’ve made the incredibly hard decision to bring Arula to a close,” the company said in a post.

“We are grateful for every try-on, every tagged photo, every kind word, and every moment you let us be part of your life.

“We’re grateful for your support, your stories, and the community we built together. Thank you for being part of it.”

The post that left shoppers “devastated” added that the online store will remain active for just a few more weeks, closing down some time in mid-June.

“Final sales and special thank-you offers will be available while supplies last,” the plus-size company added.

Officials behind the brand gave no reason for the sudden closure.

The news has left shoppers scrambling for an alternative after praising the brand for catering to plus-sized women with fashionable apparel.

“My closet is FULL of Arula clothing. I have no idea where to shop now. I’m devastated,” one fan wrote in the comments to the post.

“Devastating loss for the plus size community,” another added.

“This is the worst news,” a third wrote.

“We finally had a store that got it. It had actual trending clothes. So sad.”

However, others exchanged their sadness for anger with the brand being met with major backlash to the decision.

Shoppers were quick to point out that Arula’s sister company Altar’d state is still operational.

“Does this mean you’ll expand sizes for Altar’d state?? Or do you only want to cater to the smaller sizes now,” one asked.

“Of course the plus size brand closes but i’m sure alterd state is fine,” another added.

The brand issued no response to the criticism but did receive a warning from one shopper.

Execs behind the plus-sized brand admitted it was a ‘hard decision’[/caption]

“To simply close and offer no alternative for your plus size customer would be severely disheartening,” she wrote in the comments.

Others have already announced a boycott of any related branches of the brand after slamming it for “deciding [plus-sized women] are no longer worth it”.

“Exactly what every plus size person has come to expect,” a furious customer wrote.

“A brand deciding we are no longer worth it. Expect to never receive any business from me EVER again.”

A spokesperson one shopping mall located in Louisville, Kentucky, said that Altar’d State will remain and expand into the soon-to-be vacant Arula space, per the Courier Journal.

It is highly likely that shoppers can expect similar actions at other Arula locations.

Meanwhile, a budget-friendly furniture brand is set to completely shut down by the end of the year.

It comes as a slew of major retailers admit it is a “challenging time” as many announce closures for the coming weeks.
