THERE are only a few weeks left to claim up to $2,500 from a $3.5 million data breach settlement – you risk having to share your phone bill.

The settlement benefits those whose personal information was potentially compromised in the May 2024 breach.

As a result of the breach, consumers allegedly endured identity theft, fraud, among other damages.

The company could have prevented the breach through reasonable cybersecurity measures, according to the lawsuit.

Neiman Marcus is a renowned luxury retailer with locations dotted across the US.

It has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $3.5 million class action settlement to resolve the allegations.

Under terms of the settlement, class members can receive an incredible cash payment of up to $2,500 for documented losses related to the breach.

These losses can be bank fees, communication charges, credit expenses, among others.

And all class members can receive two years of free credit monitoring through the settlement, valued at roughly $108 per year so $216 in total.

But hurry, as the deadline for exclusion and objection is September 23, 2025.

And the final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for October 23, 2025.

In order to receive settlement benefits, class members have to submit a valid claim form by October 8, 2025.

Meanwhile, CVS shoppers can file a claim for a share of a $1 million settlement.

The settlement alleges that the pharmacy and drugstore chain recalled eye drops after the FDA deemed in late 2023 that conditions at the eye drop manufacturing facility in India were unsanitary.

Eligible class members bought certain CVS Store Brand Lubricant Eye Drops, Lubricant Gel Drops, Multi Action Relief Drops and Mild Moderate Lubricating Eye Drops between October 1, 2021 and October 25, 2023.

Those eligible can receive a cash payment based on the number of products they purchased.

Proof of purchase is required to receive a cash reward for more than three products.

The deadline for submitting a valid claim form is July 11.

What’s a class-action settlement?

Class action lawsuits offer groups of people, or ‘classes,’ a way to band together in court.

These suits are often brought by one or a few people who allege a company or other entity has wronged a large group of people.

When a suit becomes a class action, it extends to all “class members,” or people who may have similar complaints to those who filed the suit.

Companies often settle class actions – offering payment to class members who typically waive their right to pursue further legal action by accepting money.

These payout agreements frequently include statements by the defendant denying wrongdoing. Companies tend to settle class actions to avoid the costs of further litigation.

Pollution, discrimination, or false advertising are a few examples of what can land a class action on a company’s doorstep.
