First Take bumped from ESPN in major broadcasting change just days after Molly Qerim and Stephen A. Smith return

FIRST Take will undergo another big change this week just days after being restored to normal.

The popular ESPN sports debate show has just welcomed it’s main stars back from vacation.

Host Molly Qerim and lead analyst Stephen A. Smith have been enjoying a summer break.

The pair worked tirelessly on ESPN’s coverage of the NBA with the Finals going all the way to Game 7.

Qerim and Smith returned to the First Take set Monday.

But it will be moved from the main ESPN channel to ESPN2 on Thursday and Friday.

ESPN is showing little league softball on those two days.

And that has been given top billing on the main channel at the end of the week.

It means First Take will air in it’s usual time slot at 10 am ET until midday but on ESPN2.

Qerim and Smith’s status for the shows is yet to be confirmed.

The pair often miss First Take when it is not on the main channel.

Earlier this month, the show was taken off air completely for two days.

ESPN broadcast the entire Wimbledon Championships from London, England.

The tennis took priority on the main channel for the whole fortnight.

First Take aired on ESPN2 without Smith and Qerim for the majority of the time.

But there were two days where it didn’t air at all.

ESPN instead put tennis on both of the channels to show quarterfinal action simultaneously from two courts.

First Take is due to return to normal again next Monday.

Qerim and Smith are approaching busy season with NFL training camps getting under way.

Their show is usually followed onto air by The Pat McAfee Show.

NFL season will begin on Thursday, September 4.

And ESPN will continue to show Monday Night Football games with some also on ABC.
