FIVE incoming laws will change the rules of the road next month, and drivers should double-check before getting behind the wheel.
One speed limit update will bring new cameras that threaten violators with $100 fees.

The speed cameras are set to be installed outside more than a dozen schools in Doral, Florida, which is a part of Miami-Dade County.
Anyone who is caught speeding 10 mph or more over the limit will be hit with an instant $100 fine.
The cameras will be turned on September 14, and will operate 30 minutes before school starts, during the school day, and 30 minutes after school ends.
They will be inactive on weekends and during holidays.
‘TOUCH’ LAW
But this isn’t the only new rule that will affect US drivers next month.
In South Carolina, people will have to watch where they put their hands when behind the wheel starting September 1.
This is because the Palmetto State is the 33rd to sign a hands-free rule into law.
Under the new legislation, drivers will be banned from ever touching their cell phones when behind the wheel.
Instead, drivers must use Bluetooth features or hands-free technology if they want to send messages or answer calls.
Anyone caught breaking the rule will be instantly hit with a $100 ticket.
If they violate the law again within a three year span, the fines balloon to $200.
PERMIT RULE
Meanwhile, in Texas, certain drivers will have to get a new permit if they want to use their cars under a new September 1 rule.
The law applies to fully autonomous cars like Waymo and Tesla’s newly launched taxi service.
Now, state authorities have to review self-driving vehicles and approve them before they can take to the streets.
Companies with autonomous cars need to have a full plan for how to respond to potential emergencies caused by the self-driving tech.

TRAINING CRACKDOWN
Another new law that’s coming in September will bring strict new guidelines to young drivers who want to get their license.
Under the training crackdown, anyone aged 18 to 20 will be required to abide by the same requirements that younger teens follow.
Now, the young adults must complete 50 hours of driving with an adult in the car.
This means that people who can’t access driver’s education courses offered in high schools could be forced to pay up to $400 for lessons.
BUDGET CHANGE
Finally, drivers across the country have until September 30 to collect a tax credit for a new car, as it’s being abruptly axed.
Under the Trump administration’s new budget plan, drivers will no longer get a kickback for buying or leasing an electric vehicle.
This means there are just weeks left to claim a $7,500 credit for new EVs or a $4,000 credit for used versions.
