Fox NFL Sunday saw veteran Jimmy Johnson announce his retirement from broadcasting in March.
He has starred on the show since its inception in 1994.
The 81-year-old Johnson’s departure, but Fox also had to worry about the future of sideline reporters Erin Andrews and Charris, both of whose contracts expired this summer.
The network won’t have to be concerned about the pair any longer.
Front Office Sports reported that Andrews and Thompson were given “lucrative contract extensions.”
It never appeared that Andrews and Thompson’s futures were elsewhere, as the pair can continue their roles this fall.
Andrews works on the lead broadcast team with Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady.
Thompson hosts Fox NFL Kickoff at 11 am ET before Fox NFL Sunday begins at noon ET.
The pair contributed during Fox NFL Sunday’s Super Bowl broadcast in February.
Andrews and Thompson were part of a record-breaking 127 million viewer broadcast that saw the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs in New Orleans.
They also host their own podcast called Calm Down with Erin and Charissa.
Andrews and Thompson will be part of a Fox NFL Sunday team that has taken shape for the upcoming season, which will see the network’s first games on Sunday, September 7.
The main crew members of Michael Strahan, Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, and host Curt Menefee are set to appear on the show.
And Rob Gronkowski is likely to receive an increased role as he’s filled in for Johnson during the last few years.

Thompson insisted she wasn’t leaving Fox earlier this year.
“No, I’m not leaving Fox. I was never leaving Fox,” Thompson told Andrews on their podcast in April.
“I don’t know where this took on a life of its own, where I was hosting my family at the ranch for the past weekend.
“Four of my family members asked, ‘Well, the place looks great. How are you going to afford it now that you don’t have a job?’

“I’m not leaving FOX. I was never leaving FOX. I’m not fired.”
Andrews, meanwhile, was featured in an event alongside Brady to launch the 2025 season, hinting that she was ready to continue her tenure at the network.
