A GENERAL Hospital fan favorite has returned to the soap seven years after writers killed off his character.

A fan-favorite who left the series last year is making a return despite his character’s death.
General Hospital posted a video of Ryan Paevey and Finola Hughes running into each other on set.
When Finola, who plays Anna Devane, asked what he’s doing, he said, “I work here.”
A confused Finola asked, “At GH? You work here?”
When she said, “I thought you left,” he responded, “Yeah, I came back.”
Ryan was holding a script during the interaction and revealed he will reprise his role on Friday’s episode.
She then asked who he is playing, as his character Nathan West was shot by Cesar Faison.
He teased, “I can’t tell you. It’s a secret, shh.”

RYAN’S RETURN
Ryan played Nathan from 2014 to 2018.
Despite his character being killed off, fans think he could be playing Peter August after Wes Ramsey’s departure from the show.
Ryan left the show to take care of his mother who was experiencing health issues.
He also took the time off to build his jewelry business, Fortunate Wanderer.
He told TV Insider in an interview, “My last time on a film set was August two years ago, when I had stepped away for a little while, just for a variety of reasons.
“I just needed some me time. There was some stuff that necessitated my departure, some unpleasant experiences that made me need a step back.
“I settled into a quiet life. I took mom to appointments. I surfed in the afternoons, and I didn’t pay attention to social media at all. Or television. Quiet and a lot of time in the ocean?
“There’s much healing in that. San Diego has been good for me.”

READY TO RETURN
Ryan received a text message from the show’s executive producer.
“He said they had some ideas for a few other characters that were in my orbit and was wondering if I might be willing to come back so they could make some of that arc a little bit richer,” the actor explained.
He said that while he has “no intention of returning,” but needs to “keep the lights on.”
“I have the ability to work. I’m grateful to still have an opportunity here,” he continued.
