GENERAL Hospital fans will be breathing a sigh of relief to get a break from seeing character Drew Cain after complaints about his storyline.
Viewers have slammed the character but got a break from him on Labor Day as the beloved soap aired a rerun on the holiday.

Portrayed by Cameron Mathison, General Hospital fans have moaned about his Drew character and have called for him to be removed from the show altogether.
Soap lovers have long despised Drew’s treatment of his daughter Scout, and his affair with Willow Corinthos nee Tait.
Even though Drew has been the recurring villain that people love to hate, viewers are now calling for him to be written out of General Hospital.
Many have complained his affair with Willow has gone on too long and it was “ruining” the show.
“I am so done with Willow and Drew that I fast-forward through their scenes. It has gone too far. No self respecting woman would do this… It’s just ridiculous and poor writing. Drew is beyond redemption – good or bad. Willow is as weak as always. Marrying Michael redeemed her. But she is just insufferable now,” wrote one viewer on X, formerly Twitter.
Another added: “You might as well change the name of the show to Congressman Drew. Most of the fans are so sick of the Drew show… This Drew needs to be killed off! Everyday the fans are asking for him to GO! But, Y’all aren’t listening to us.”
And a third wrote: “Say it with me..Drew gotta go, Drew gotta go, Drew gotta go!”
Cameron Mathison, who is the second actor to play Drew, opened up on what it was like to play such a hated villain.
“I’ve never had people hate [him] so much,” Cameron told Woman’s World earlier this year.
“I went to Christmas Con, and almost everybody in line was livid at Drew. I’m trying to take smiley pictures with a Christmas tree in the background, and they’re throwing things at me.”
Even though fans may want Drew gone, Cameron recently told one viewer in no uncertain terms that his character was not going anywhere.
