The Rocky Road-inspired cookie will be available when its annual sales begin in January next year.
Just like the Girl Scouts’ other cookies, which include the popular Thin Mints, Samoas, and Tagalongs, the new flavor will be sold both online and in-person at booths by local troops.
The new chocolate cookie boasts a creamy filling with notes of chocolate and marshmallow.
The exciting new launch also features toasted almond–flavored crème.
According to a press release, the cookie reflects “the spirit of exploration at the heart of every Girl Scout”.
Nearly a whopping 700,000 scouts participate in the cookie sale each year.
Earlier this year, the Girl Scouts of the USA revamped its cookie lineup, announcing the discontinuation of the “S’mores” and “Toast-Yay!” – and the move outraged fans.
Both S’mores and Toast-Yay! were relatively new additions to the Girl Scout Cookie lineup.
S’mores was first introduced in 2017, and Toast-Yay came out a few years later in 2021, per Today.
Over the years, fans have developed some serious passion for the two flavors, leading to some hard feelings over the discontinuation announcement.
BRING THEM BACK
“Not sure why they would discontinue the S’more’s cookie, it’s a best seller!” someone exclaimed in a Facebook thread.
“Omg those were my favorites,” another added.
“Yep, I’m out. Toast yays were their best ones,” a third wrote.
There were also several criticisms from customers over the pricing differences in Girl Scout Cookies since S’mores and Toast-Yay! made their way into the lineup.
Many furious customers also blamed the new pricing, with fans The claiming the ”cookie boxes are smaller and more expensive”.
It’s true, the price of a box of Girl Scout Cookies did increase in 2024 to $6 — one of the first upticks in years.
The national council for GSUSA also approved increases in membership prices in October, as The U.S. Sun previously reported.
While dues for 2025 are still $25 annually for children, in 2026, it will be $45 per year and then $65 for 2027.
Pricing of $85 was also originally proposed for 2027 but decreased.
