A MAJOR grocery chain is set to close four stores next month in one US state.
Customers have just a few weeks to stock up at these outlets until they shut their doors for good.

Shoppers Food has earmarked additional four of its Maryland stores for closure in October.
A firm date is not yet known, but smnewsnet.com reports that they will shut by the middle of the month.
The company has not yet revealed a reason for the closures.
It will affect the following outlets across Maryland:
- 2286 Middlesex, 1200 Eastern Blvd., Essex, MD
- 2339 New Carrollton, 7790 Riverdale Rd., New Carrollton, MD
- 2349/2414 Waldorf, 1170 W. Smallwood Dr., Waldorf, MD
- 2374 Westminster, 551 Jermor Ln., Westminster, MD
“We are deeply grateful to our team members for their contributions and will support them through this transition,” wholesaler United Natural Food Inc said in a statement.
The company said it is committed to serving communities through its other stores in the area.
But it’s far from the only chain to see swathes of stores close amid a retail apocalypse.
Experts say so many companies are shutting stores due to a shift in consumer spending.
Nordstrom announced it would be pulling out of two prime shopping centers last month.
The closure was reported to affect shoppers in Missouri and California.
A Nordstrom spokesperson told USA Today: “We believe we’ll be best able to serve customers in each region by leveraging our surrounding stores and through our digital channels.”
And retail giant Kroger is shutting down multiple stores across the US as it struggles with underperforming locations.
They are are part of a plan to shutter 60 stores over the next 18 months.
The company has said it plans to reinvest savings into improving its customer experience.
Interim CEO Ron Sargent said: “Unfortunately, today, not all of our stores are delivering the sustainable results we need.”
