Harry asks pal ‘about her move back to UK after living in US as he considers British schooling for Archie & Lilibet’

PRINCE Harry asked pal Joss Stone about her move from America back to the UK – fuelling rumours he could send his children to school in Britain.

The Duke of Sussex, 41, quizzed the actress about schools and “community” at the WellChild awards, in London, last week.

The pair were attending the glitzy charity bash on the first night of Harry’s four-day say in the country.

During his brief visit, he met with his father, King Charles, for the first time in 19 months at a private tea reunion at Clarence House.

Speaking on his return, a spokesperson for the Duke said he “loved being back” in England.

Now, singer Joss Stone has revealed Harry seemed “genuinely interested” in her return home, hinting he could also make the move.

Speaking to Hello!, she said: “He asked about how we were settling back in and was genuinely interested in our move home.

“Maybe Harry will move back too. He was saying how wonderful the schools are here and how important community is for children.

“It was nice to share that with him because it’s exactly why we felt drawn to come back… for the kids to grow up surrounded by family.”

A close pal of The Duke, the songwriter recently made the transition across The Pond after living in Nashville, Tennessee.

Stone, who attended Harry’s wedding to Meghan Markle in 2018, shares four children with her American husband Cody DaLuz.

The pair met for the first time at a Prince’s Trust event in 2005 and she later became an ambassador for Harry’s charity, Sentebale.

Harry has barely spoken to his family since Megxit in 2020, which saw him and Meghan step down as working royals and move to the US.

They ditched royal life to live in a multi-million pound mansion in celebrity neighbourhood Montecito with Archie, six, and Lilibet, four.

At the time, he filmed his move to California and called it his “freedom flight”.

But his comments to Stone at the charity bash suggest The Duke could be looking to educate his children in Britain.

Last month, a source close to Harry told the Daily Mail he wants Archie and Lilibet to have the “best education” in the UK.

They said: “I can tell you that Harry wants to educate the children here in the UK.

“He feels his children are missing out on the extensive family network that their niece and nephews are enjoying.

“Harry wants his children to have the very best education. He wants that for his own children.”

It comes after Harry sensationally claimed in the past the UK is not safe for his children to visit.

He even declared “my life is at stake” when he lost a three-year fight for his round-the-clock royal protection after it was axed.

And his visit last week was derailed when he was late to a event because he no longer has a traffic-busting police convoy.

During his visit, he saw his father for the first time in 19 months after the King flew back from Balmoral between three official audiences.

The meeting, a “private tea” between the two, lasted 55 minutes – almost double the time Harry got last year.

It means The Duke flew 5,000 miles from Los Angeles to spend less than an hour inside his father’s home.

Sources close to the King and Prince Harry have remained tight-lipped about the reunion.

And when quizzed on the possibility of further meetings with the King, he said: “The focus really has to be on my dad”.

Harry’s spokesperson admitted he “loved catching up with old friends” and colleagues.

The Duke also told how he wants to spend more time in the country.

When asked if he would bring his children, he responded: “This week has definitely brought that closer.”

William was not at the tea party as he was travelling back from an engagement in Wales – and he will not join his brother today.

The once-close brothers’ long-standing rift shows no sign of healing, with the pair not meeting at all during Harry’s four-day stay.

Royal Expert Ingrid Seward suggested Harry’s move was just a “PR stunt” as he “needs the King’s stardust” in order to stay relevant.

She previously told The Sun: “I think it’s a massive PR move to re-establish Harry in the hearts of the British people.

“Harry needs the stardust of his father. He needs people to see him as the son of a king.

“His earning power is related to who he is. Without being the royal he is, Harry would not be interested to anyone in California.

“But because he is the son of a king, and the brother of an heir to the throne, he is of great interest and he needs that connection.”

Ingrid explained that since Harry “makes his money in America”, he would need to keep his image strong there.

She said the view of a “split” family did not sit well with audiences in the US, so this decision would help mend that and keep him relevant.

Ingrid continued: “This is a big, big PR push, and Harry was finally all smiles and charm, reminiscent of himself of old.”

The Sussexes have been approached for comment.
