The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has forecasted that heavy rain is expected in two regions tomorrow, with a 70% likelihood due to the landfall of Typhoon Vutip. This has resulted in a moderate southwest monsoon affecting Thailand.
Northern Thailand will experience heavy rainfall in some areas, while the south will see thunderstorms in certain parts. Residents in northern Thailand are advised to exercise caution due to the risk of flash floods and runoff, particularly in hilly and low-lying areas. Farmers are encouraged to prepare for potential agricultural damage.

The TMD issued the 18th advisory on Typhoon Vutip at 5pm, noting that by 1pm today, the powerful tropical storm had made landfall in Guangdong, China. By 4pm, it was centred in Guangxi, China, at latitude 21.9° N and longitude 110.0° E, with maximum wind speeds at the centre reaching 100 kilometres per hour.
Moving northeast at 20 kilometres per hour, the storm is expected to weaken into a depression and then a low-pressure area. The typhoon will not enter Thailand but will strengthen the moderate southwest monsoon covering Thailand, causing heavy rain in the northeast’s eastern region, reported KhaoSod.
The Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand will see moderate sea conditions. Changes in circumstances will prompt immediate updates from the TMD.
