This weather pattern is influenced by a trough of the monsoon passing through the lower northern, upper central, and northeastern regions, coupled with a moderately strong southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, southern Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand.
Additionally, the strong tropical storm, Tapah, located in the upper South China Sea, is expected to make landfall in southern China on September 8. However, this storm is not expected to affect Thailand’s weather conditions directly, as reported by the TMD.

In the northern region, thunderstorms are forecasted in 60% of the area, with some heavy rain in Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phitsanulok, Phichit, and Phetchabun. Temperatures range from 23 to 25 degrees Celsius (°C) to 32 to 33°C, with variable winds at 5 to 15 kilometres per hour (km/h).
In the northeastern region, thunderstorms are projected in 70% of the area, with heavy rain in Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Roi Et, Maha Sarakham, Yasothon, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Amnat Charoen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buri Ram, Surin, Si Sa Ket, and Ubon Ratchathani. Temperatures range from 22 to 24°C to 31 to 34°C, with variable winds at 10 to 15 km/h.

Temperatures range from 24 to 26°C to 31 to 34°C, with variable winds at 10 to 15 km/h.
Similarly, in East Thailand, thunderstorms are forecasted in 80% of the area, with very heavy rain in Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi, and Trat. Temperatures range from 23 to 24°C to 28 to 33°C, with southwesterly winds at 15 to 35 km/h. The sea has waves of 1 to 2 metres, with areas experiencing thunderstorms seeing waves above 2 metres.
In the southern region (east coast), thunderstorms are predicted in 40% of the area, mainly in Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, and Surat Thani. Temperatures range from 23 to 26°C to 31 to 34°C, with southwesterly winds at 15 to 35 km/h.
The sea has waves reaching about 1 metre, with offshore waves of 1 to 2 metres, and areas with thunderstorms seeing waves above 2 metres.
In the southern region (west coast), more rainfall is predicted with thunderstorms projected in 60% of the area, with heavy rain in Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, and Krabi. Temperatures range from 23 to 27°C to 30 to 32°C.
From Phang Nga upwards: southwesterly winds at 20 to 35 km/h, with the sea having waves of about 2 metres and areas with thunderstorms seeing waves above 2 metres. From Phuket downwards: southwesterly winds at 1 to 35 km/h, with the sea having waves of 1 to 2 metres and areas with thunderstorms seeing waves above 2 metres.
For Bangkok and the vicinity, thunderstorms are expected in 80% of the area, with heavy to very heavy rain in some areas. Temperatures range from 24 to 25°C to 31 to 33°C, with southwesterly winds at 10 to 15 km/h.
