A HIGH school football star was airlifted to the hospital after a horrific injury in South Carolina.
The player went down in the third quarter of the Palmetto Mustangs’ game against the Crescent Tigers, Fox Carolina reported.

The team posted on Facebook that Eli Jordan was flown to hospital during Friday’s match.
He has since been discharged but will take time to rest.
His family is asking for privacy while he recovers.
They issued a statement that read, “We would like to thank everyone for their prayers and calls.
“Eli has bounced back this morning.
“He is able to talk and move his arms and legs.
“He is eating and the doctors are going to observe him.
“We appreciate the support from everyone at Palmetto High School, including the coaches and school administration, as well as everyone who has reached out.
“At this time, we ask for privacy as we focus on Eli’s recovery.”
The update on his status came through a spokesperson for Anderson School District One.
Jennifer Mazza, spokesperson for Anderson School District One, also issued a statement on behalf of the school district.
Mazza said, “Our priority is on the student athlete and his family at this time.”
Their final update came late on August 31 from his Aunt, saying, “Eli is coming home today!!!
“He has been discharged and will head home to rest and recover.
“Still several appointments over the next week but this is amazing!!”
The Tigers ended up winning the game 21-6, after being 14-0 up at halftime.
The Mustangs also lost their opening fixture of the year.
They were beaten 42-0 by the Wren Golden Hurricanes.
They take on Travelers Rest Devil Dogs on Friday night at 7:30 pm ET.
The following week, they travel to the Liberty Red Devils.
