Howard Stern makes scathing comment about Alex Cooper and ends SiriusXM show hour early after cancellation rumors

HOWARD Stern claimed he didn’t know who fellow SiriusXM mega star Alex Cooper is in scathing comments as he signed off from his long-awaited return to his show an hour early after cancellation rumors.

In his eagerly anticipated, and then delayed, return to air amid reports he wasn’t being renewed at the streaming radio satellite company, Stern, 71, claimed that he’s so out of touch at his own company that he had no idea who Alex, of Call Her Daddy podcasting fame, is.

Alex Cooper signed a $125 million multi-year deal with SiriusXM, but Stern says he didn’t know who she was till he read about her in a story about him over the summer[/caption]

He also promptly signed off an hour early from his show on Monday, claiming he had a bad cold- which is the reason he gave his loyal fan base for skipping out on his first scheduled return to the show on Tuesday, September 2.

Alex, a 31-year-old podcasting juggernaut, has a $125 million, multi-year deal with SiriusXM.

Stern said on air Monday that he had read that he was “leaving because of Alex Cooper,” though there were no such reports that said that.

“And I’m going Alex Cooper? A rock star from the f****** 80s who, you know, with Schools Out…. and then I realized they’re talking about a podcast. I thought they meant Alice Cooper, right?”

“They met Alex Cooper, the woman they signed here at Sirius.”

The shock jock continued “Alex Cooper, I don’t know Alex Cooper.

“And if let me tell you how I feel about Alex Cooper, how I feel about any person who works on these channels, God bless them.

“If they can bring in a subscriber, it can only be good for me. I own this stock, I’m still waiting to get rich from it.

“I need people to come in and subscribe for Alex Cooper,” he said, before saying he didn’t care if SiriusXM paid Adolf Hitler, Harvey Weinstein, Vladimir Putin or Bill Cosby, as long as they have subscribers.
