The festival of Navaratri carries deep spiritual meaning, representing the soul’s journey toward enlightenment through self-purification and inner transformation. Navaratri celebrations feature diverse traditions and regional variations across India and beyond, but are uniformly centred on devotion to the Goddess Durga. While some rituals, such as fasting and daily prayers, are common, the festival’s unique regional flavours make it a vibrant and diverse cultural event. Popular actress Niharika Chouksey, who plays the lead role of Anu in Zee TV‘s Tumm Se Tumm Tak, produced by Studio LSD, has a special place in her heart for the festival of Navaratri.
She says, “Navaratri has always been one of the most special times of the year for me. As a child, I remember the joy of coming together with my family for pooja, offering prayers to Goddess Durga, and binge-eating all the delicious food my mom used to make. Those moments are etched in my heart forever.”
Talking about plans this year, she says, “This year, I am excited to relive that festive spirit, dressing up in vibrant outfits and attending the beautiful events that light up the city. There’s something magical about how the energy shifts during Navaratri, the streets come alive, and it feels like everyone is celebrating together. I enjoy garba nights with my friends every year. Wishing everyone a very happy Navaratri, may Goddess Durga bless you with all the happiness in the world.”
Wishing our readers a blissful Navaratri!!
