It has been revealed that Ikea and Best Buy is joining forces to launch 10 test stores.
These will act as mini Best Buy showrooms featuring kitchen products from Ikea.
The idea has been described as a “shop-in-shop” experience, and allows shoppers to design spaces with Ikea staff and pick appliances with Best Buy associates.
The stores will debut across Florida and Texas, giving Ikea 1,000 square-foot of space.
You will be able to find the stores in:
- Boynton Beach, FL
- Daytona Beach, FL
- Lakeland, FL
- Melbourne, FL
- Waterford Lakes, FL
- Alamo Ranch, TX
- Hulen, TX
- Humble, TX
- Mesquite, TX
- South Austin, TX
Rob Olson, chief operation officer, IKEA U.S., said: “This partnership between IKEA and Best Buy is about making great design and functionality more accessible for the many.
“By bringing together our home furnishing expertise, products, and services with Best Buy’s leadership in appliances and technology, we’re creating a one-stop destination where customers can design their dream kitchen, storage solutions or laundry space with ease.
“It’s a great step on our journey to helping people create beautiful, functional homes at a price they can afford.”
Two of the stores, in Lakeland and Alamo Ranch, will also act as pick-up points.
These will allow customers to pick up most Ikea U.S. products for free at the Best Buy store.
The companies have not disclosed financial aspects of the partnership.
IKEA EXPANSION
Ikea recently announced the opening of its second store in the state of Oregon, found in the Beaverton area.
The company has opened five stores in the US already in 2025, and is planning an additional six before the year is up.
For 2026, two stores are already being planned, and more are a possibility at this stage.
Rob Olson, chief operating officer at IKEA U.S., told USA Today: “At IKEA, we’ve always believed that a better everyday life starts at home—and that belief is at the heart of everything we do.
“As we expand across the U.S., our goal is simple: to be there for our customers, wherever they are and however they choose to shop.
“Whether it’s through our new small-format stores, our Plan & order points, or a more seamless digital experience, we’re working to make IKEA more accessible and convenient than ever before.”
Ikea wants to open three more Plan and Order stores and three large-format stores before the end of the year.
The Plan and Order stores set for this year can be found in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, the Beaverton spot that has already opened, and in Hunt Valley, Maryland.
One of the large-format stores opened in San Marcos, Texas in July.
The other two will fall in October and December in McAllen, Texas and Dallas, Texas.
