A SAVVY college student is making around $1,000 extra on a weekly basis, thanks to a unique side hustle.

The part-time job takes little effort to start and maintain, and can bring in some consistent money with the right setup.

“I make over $1,000 a week, literally from my bed in college,” explained full-time student Jenna (@jenna.creating) in a TikTok video earlier this month.

“No, I don’t have an OnlyFans, I am not a nepo-baby, and I am not trying to sell you a course.”

Jenna continued that while she avoided the common side hustle avenues seen on social media, she was still looking for something that would help her out financially.

The TikToker then “stumbled upon” a website called Rally.Fan.

Rally.Fan is effectively an artificial intelligence-assisted creator platform, allowing those interested to quickly sell digital products to customers and make money from it.

“It has these AI helpers and one of them said ‘digital product specialist,’” Jenna explained.

She then asked the chatbot what the five most profitable digital products in the coffee market were, and it provided her a list of options.

They included coffee brewing guides, coffee subscription services, online coffee courses, printable coffee journals, and coffee-themed digital art.

Jenna chose the brewing guide and made it on Canva in about three hours, the longest part of the process.

In just a few minutes, she downloaded the guide as a PDF and uploaded it to Rally.Fan, where the AI helpers provided suggestions to optimize its visibility so consumers would purchase it.

“And, people have been buying it,” Jenna said excitedly.

“I’m not trying to gatekeep it because I know a lot of us are busy and need side hustles…”

Over 1,000 viewers replied to Jenna’s video, requesting more information.

“AI is making it so much easier to create multiple streams of income!” someone commented.

Side hustles and tax implications

Extra income you make from side hustles may need to be reported to the IRS.

If you receive more than $600 in gross payouts from a selling platform like eBay, the site will issue you a Form 1099-K to use in your tax return.

Individuals should calculate their adjusted gross income, taxable earnings, and deductions for the year.

Once they have that, they can use the 1040-ES form to calculate estimated taxes.

STEP BY STEP

Effectively, anyone who wanted to get started would need to follow just four simple steps.

First, they’d need to head to Rally.Fan’s website and start a free trial either as a Rally Creator or Rally Pro.

Eventually the base monthly cost to use the platform would be $29 at a minimum.

Secondly, prospective creators would work with one of the AI helpers to create the digital product they want to sell.

After that, they’d need to spend time creating that product before uploading it to Rally.Fan.

Lastly, they’d use the AI helper again, getting it set up for customers to purchase, according to Jenna.

INCOME NEEDED

Side hustles are becoming a necessity for Generation Z workers in 2025, with many hoping for at least three income streams in the next five years, according to a recent survey from Intuit.

Gen Z is battling inflation, tariffs, and an increasingly challenging job market, with many scrambling to build financial stability.

At least 98% of young adults say that cost of living is their biggest money stressor in the survey.

This was followed by job security at 87%, saving money at 47%, and 31% for paying bills and debt.

While AI can seemingly provide more side hustle opportunities, its also taking away jobs for Gen Z, and many are switching to blue collar careers with expectations that the tech will replace common post-college positions soon.

Many young people are also saying friendship is getting “too expensive” to budget anymore.
