CAITLIN Clark has been sidelined for nearly two months, but there is optimism that she can make a return soon.
The Indiana Fever superstar hasn’t played since July 15, missing 19 games in a row in the process.

Clark has missed 27 of the Fever’s 40 games this season.
She hadn’t missed a single game during her college career and rookie WNBA season.
Before the injury, Clark was averaging 16.5 points, 8.8 assists, and 5.0 rebounds per game.
According to Fever head coach Stephanie White, Clark still hasn’t practiced in contact situations.
She has participated in 5-on-0 drills with the second team though.
With just three games left in the regular season, Clark has limited time to return to the roster before she starts risking missing playoff games.
However, White is hopeful that Clark can get back on the court before the team’s final game on September 9.
“That’s the hope,” she said.
“She’s working as hard as she can to make sure that she is coming back or is capable of coming back.
“I think the long term viewpoint of her health and wellness is the most important thing.”
Clark previously went through a walk-through, according to White.
“She went through it (On Monday), I want to see her in practice,” she said.
“I want to see her continue to work to not just build endurance, but to be able to handle contact (for) 94 feet as it’s going to be in-game.
“To be able to do that and sustain from an endurance standpoint.”
If Clark can’t return in time for the regular season, she could still return in the playoffs.

*Voted as a starter
The Fever own a 21-20 record this season and are currently 1.5 games ahead of the Los Angeles Sparks for the final playoff spot.
If they win two of their three remaining games they will guarantee a spot in the playoffs.
The Fever would certainly love to have Clark back for the playoffs, but dropping her into a playoff matchup after missing more than 20 games in a row wouldn’t be ideal.
There are five days left until the season ends, and if the Fever don’t get a positive update on Clark soon she likely won’t step on the court again in the regular season.
