Sehaj Rajput, the talented actress known for her portrayal of Unnati in Zee TV‘s Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile, expresses her excitement about the valuable learning experiences that this role has brought her. The character of Unnati, originally filled with rage and turmoil, has undergone a remarkable transformation, providing Sehaj with a rich opportunity to showcase her acting skills and delve deeper into the intricacies of her character. Rose Audio Visuals and Sonnal A Kakar produce the show.
Sehaj takes the example of the recent accident sequence of Unnati, which provided a huge turning point in the story, and rightly says, “This is a today’s generation story, where the youngsters at times don’t know how to accept rejection. They have got everything on a platter, and when they see the other side of life, they are not ready to take it and deal with it. This is where parental guidance comes in, and perhaps, if Unnati had got proper advice at the right time, she would have reacted differently. Unfortunately, she has been manipulated by Buaji. Unnati has not seen any struggle in life, and perhaps, if the mother had been there then, things would have been different.”
I cry for real in scenes where required, and that drains me out. But that is the beauty of being an actor, isn’t it?
As an actor, the accident sequence and the aftermath brought the best out of her. “I am grateful for bagging this role in Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile. I have bagged scenes where acting is the priority. I am not the lead in the show, but how the story has taken forward all four characters is beautiful to watch.”
“As a person, I get bored very easily. So getting creative satisfaction at work is a priority for me. The fact that the character is providing so many layers to work on excites me the most,” adds Sehaj.
Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile happens to be the first show for Sehaj Rajput, and we can confidently say that she has made a mark. Talking about her future, she avers, “I am well prepared for the work ahead. This show has opened the door for me to explore a lot as an actor. People recognise me as Unnati, and that is a big achievement. I was with my mother in Delhi at a jewellery shop when a person came up to me and talked about how I should not interfere in Raghav and Reet’s lives. That was a memorable moment.”
Talking about the consequences of playing a raged-out character, Sehaj says, “The character’s angry traits affected me in real life initially. I never realised when I started behaving much like Unnati in real life, where I fought with people for no reason at all. It was strange for me to do that. Slowly, I adapted to other ways to calm myself down. I have taken to meditation. I dance a lot, which soothes me. I cry for real in scenes where required, and that drains me out. But that is the beauty of being an actor, isn’t it?. As for the cut-off mode in acting where you get out of a character’s mood quickly, I guess that will come with experience.”
Way to go, Sehaj!!
