Jason Kelce left ‘depressed’ after dramatic weight loss as NFL legend tells brother Travis of post-retirement battle

Kelce has lost 50 pounds since retiring from the NFL in March 2024[/caption]

In that time, the 37-year-old has had to tackle some major lifestyle changes, including his diet and conditioning.

Since leaving the pro ball behind, Kelce has dropped 50 pounds.

This means he has gone from 300 pounds – around the average weight of an NFL offensive linesman – to 250 pounds.

But as he tried on his old college jersey, No60 for the Cincinnati Bearcats, it brought up a candid conversation.

In a chat with younger brother, Travis Kelce, on their New Heights podcast, he explained how his weight loss journey had been “depressing”

As Jason went to try on the jersey, Travis initially said: “You’re going to squeeze in this thing? This is what happens when…

“You lose a little weight, guys. You can start squeezing into things a lot easier.”

Once Jason had got it on, he asked: “How do I look?”

Travis replied: “Dude, you got so thin that number 60 doesn’t look good on you anymore.”

Jason said: “I know. I look like a long snapper now.

“Do I go back to number 48, my linebacker numbers?

“Would that look better?

“That would even look more like a long snapper.”

Travis added: “I think 40s are probably where you — right now.”

Jason laughed back: “Where I would sit?”

The Kansas City Chiefs star responded: “Yeah, somewhere in the 40s.”

Jason concluded by saying: “So depressing.”

Travis will be starting his next season with the Chiefs in the coming weeks.

He decided to continue playing amid retirement talk after losing the Super Bowl to the Eagles.
