Chiefs were irked by his comments and pulled the show in an instant.
They said the show has been pulled “indefinitely” and are still yet to shed any light on when it will return to TV screens.
A spokesperson for Disney‘s ABC confirmed that the show would be on indefinite hiatus.
When the show got pulled on Wednesday night, Jimmy was replaced by a gameshow host when they aired a popular series.
Kimmel’s hit show was replaced by Celebrity Family Feud, which is hosted by Steve Harvey.
As fans were tuning into Kimmel’s show, they were stunned to instead see an episode of Family Feud.
One person on X said, “ABC is playing f***ing Celebrity Family Feud instead of Kimmel. What a joke.”
Another wrote, “I was shocked to see the Family Feud on instead of Jimmy Kimmel last night!”
“Turned the TV to where Jimmy Kimmel would normally be on, and it was playing Family feud,” added a third.
While a fourth wrote, “ABC started playing reruns of Family Feud rather than Kimmel. Smart move ABC, Kimmel has been terribly not entertaining for a decade!”
Guests that were set to appear on Kimmel’s had started to head to the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles before bosses canned Wednesday’s program, as reported by CNN.
Bosses explained that the move was due to his comments about Kirk’s assassination, which they found “concerning.”
Kimmel claimed the so-called “MAGA gang” were trying to score points off the assassination.
“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and with everything they can to score political points from it,” he said.
