KATE Gosselin and her bodyguard Steve Neild have been secretly dating for 17 years, as their affair broke up her marriage to Jon, the ex-husband has claimed.
Kate, 50, recently revealed over TikTok that she has been dating someone for “a little over a year” and that she has known him “for a really long time.”

In an exclusive interview with The U.S. Sun, Jon, 48, alleged that Kate not only had an affair with her bodyguard Steve during their 10-year marriage, but that their romance has been way longer than just a year.
Jon told The U.S. Sun, “I definitely think it’s her bodyguard Steve, 100 percent. He’s been a consistent person in her life.
“I’m not even upset that she’s with someone… I’m more concerned about when it actually transpired because I know for a long, long time, at least 17 years, that they have been canoodling or together.
“Obviously it’s been longer than a year. I know for a fact. I do have children and do have a relationship with my children. They tell me stuff,” he claimed.
When asked why the couple would keep their romance a secret all these years, Jon brought up monetary reasons, as Kate starred on the 2019 TLC reality show Kate Plus Date.
Jon asked, “If you’re with someone, why are you doing a dating show?”

Jon claimed Kate and Steve’s romance is what ended their 10-year marriage.
He alleged, “I was labeled a cheater by TLC and Kate for 17 years. Our divorce didn’t end because I was cheating. Our divorce ended because I knew she was seeing Steve.
“When I left, they just created the narrative that I was cheating and I was moving on and doing other things. All meanwhile, I know these two were still hooking up or doing whatever.
“I believe Kate was cheating on me during my marriage.”
He alleges certain clues led him to believe they were having an affair, including Steve sleeping over the family’s Pennsylvania home with Jon, Kate and their eight children.
Jon claimed, “I felt it odd that he was sleeping in my house when we were filming. He slept in the basement of my house. I can’t protect my wife and my family? That was strange.
“I had another incident where she fell and hurt herself on the treadmill. I’m standing right there. I said, ‘I’ll call an ambulance.’ She said, ‘No, call Steve.’”
Jon continued to allege of another example, “Traveling was weird. Like, why are you coming with me? My vowel renewal in 2008, that was weird. Why are we inviting their whole family?”
The Jon & Kate Plus 8 star added, “Now you want to say you have only been with this person for 12 months when you’ve ruined 17 years of multiple people’s lives? That’s the problem.
“You ruined so much of my life by labeling me this thing and the demise of our marriage when all in all, pot calling kettle black.”
At the time of their divorce, Jon was accused of partying and cheating on Kate with younger women during their marriage.
Jon said of the rumors, “I’ve never cheated on Kate. I waited until I was separated and then moved on.
“I moved to New York in June of 2009. And I already knew we already filed for divorce.”
While Jon claims the affair destroyed their marriage, he does believe the couple would’ve divorced eventually.
The dad of eight said, “I got married at 22 years old. You get to know someone and then just either grow together or grow apart.
“It may have stretched further, but fame and money just speed it up because it just allows you to build time for yourself and what you want to do.”
Jon claimed as recently as May, his kids have revealed the couple is living together.
The DJ continued to allege, “She just wants to not own that truth. And told my other kids, ‘Do not tell him at all.’ Well why not tell me? Because you know I know the truth. And that has happened for years. He has been living there forever.”
Since Jon never confronted Steve about the affair, he has a message for him 17 years later.
He told The U.S. Sun, “Today, I would say, ‘Just own up to it.’”
Kate, Steve and TLC did not respond to The U.S. Sun’s request for comment on Jon’s claims.

COLLIN’S SIDE
Jon and Kate’s son Collin, who is one of the couple’s sextuplets, also spoke to The U.S. Sun about his estranged mother’s relationship with Steve.
Collin told The U.S. Sun, “I absolutely believe it is Steve. Even before any articles came out, I always had information pertaining to her relationship with him.
“I do not condone cheating. I do not appreciate it. I’m just very disappointed in my mother.
“I do not believe it has been a year. They were always very close and the signs were there of romantic involvement or an affair.
“Where it involves a party being married and having an affair that’s where I don’t really appreciate it and it disappoints me a little bit. A lot, actually.”
Like Jon, Collin also alleged he saw signs Kate was with Steve during the marriage.
He claimed, “I do remember him staying over. Whether it was in our basement or in our family room at one point… He did stay overnight a few times.
“No other producers, cameraman, audio guys, no one slept at our house.
“She went on a lot of business vacations. She would go on a vacation with him and my dad would stay at the house. What was it for? No book was being released. There was no show being filmed. It was nothing.
“They left a lot. He was with her all the time. I found a lot of pictures together, very close… It gets to the point where we are overstepping professional boundaries.”
He claimed of after his parents divorce, “When we would go on vacation, she was always very close with him, whether that was in the bus or in the limousines or anything like that. And that was in front of all my siblings.
“However, later on, my mom would start to keep me in the hotel room with her, either in a connected room or in a hotel room on a cot, on like those rollout cots.
“He would come in the room and be very close with her, very touchy. And with me right there. And she would either keep me there or in a connected room,” he alleged. “And I do remember in Mexico, I was in a connected room and he stayed in the same hotel room as her. So this was not news to me.
“I don’t think I should be in a connected that she’s sharing with a bodyguard. That’s disgusting actually, sorry. That is not okay. I can hear them through the wall. You can hear what’s going on. He was there. That’s pretty disguising.”
In 2024, Collin claimed to The U.S. Sun that Kate would zip-tie his hands and feet and be locked in a specially-built basement room that contained only a bed and cameras to watch him for a whole day or part of a day “multiple” times.
Kate’s lawyer said in a statement at the time, “If Kate did the things that Collin is accusing Kate of, she would have been investigated by the authorities and prosecuted.”
FIGHT FOR THE TRUTH
Collin challenged his estranged mother to a lie detector test regarding the alleged abuse and affair.
He told The U.S. Sun, “Mom, if you’re listening to this, we would ask about the zip ties. I would also let her ask [me] questions, like, ‘Were you violent towards your siblings? Did you ever put your hands on your siblings? Stuff like that.
“I want to get into everything. This is where we are both hooked up to lie detectors. For me, I have nothing to hide, I want to ask her these questions.
“I want the truth to be told. I always say, there is the truth and there is the truth from Kate Gosselin’s point of view.
“I’m sure she’s going to watch this and be a little bit scared. Just put it all out there. I don’t have anything to lose and I know you do.
“I will fight this fight every single day.”
Kate, Steve and TLC did not respond to The U.S. Sun’s request for comment on Collin’s claims.
ROMANCE REVEALED
Kate joined TikTok over the summer of 2025 and has revealed details of her personal life, including her “new” boyfriend.
This week, Kate posted from a hospital bed and revealed she underwent knee surgery after her dog ran into her.
In the video, Kate called for “Steve,” seemingly confirming their relationship, though he was not seen in the TikTok.
The U.S. Sun can confirm Steve filed for divorce from his wife Gina in September 2023.
Their divorce was finalized that November.
Kate relocated from Pennsylvania to North Carolina in 2018.
She lived a private life until an appearance on Special Forces in 2023.
As for Jon, he lives in Reading, Pennsylvania with his fiancé Stephanie Lebo, who he is marrying this November.

Jon and Kate got married in 1999, after meeting a year prior.
After struggling to conceive, the duo turned to fertility treatments and welcomed twins Cara and Madelyn in 2000.
Four years later, Kate became pregnant for the second time, and again welcomed multiple babies, with sextuplets joining the family.
The unique Gosselin family appeared in several TV specials, and eventually gained their own show in 2007.
However, the family was thrown into turmoil when Jon and Kate announced their separation in June 2009, with their divorce finalized that December.
Kate was awarded the family home and primary custody of the kids, but many court cases were filed in the following years.
In April 2018, a judge ruled in favor of Jon having primary custody of one of the sextuplets, Hannah, with Kate’s appeal against the decision denied.
That October, Jon gained full custody of Hannah’s brother Collin after Kate sent him to an institution for 22 months.
Today, Kate and Hannah have mended their relationship after years of no contact.
As for Collin, he has been outspoken about his mother’s alleged abuse.
He told The U.S. Sun in September 2025 that he has had no contact with his mother, who has blocked him from reaching out to her.
FAMILY FEUD
Kate and Jon divorced in 2009 and were embroiled in a nasty custody war in the following years.
Kate was ultimately granted custody of Leah, Alexis, Joel and Aaden, all 21, and twins Mady and Cara, both 24.
The remaining two sextuplets, Hannah and Collin, were in Jon’s care.
Kate last appeared on TLC in 2019 for spinoff Kate Plus Date.
TLC officially cut ties with the family in 2019 after Jon accused Kate of filming the minor children for the episode without his consent.
The court found her in contempt and ordered her to pay $1,500 in attorney’s fees to Jon.
