The leaked picture, posted on the social media platform Reddit, confirms that KFC will no longer issue refunds for orders.

Instead, if a customer is unhappy with their order, the restaurant will “make it right for you”.

But diners on the thread have expressed doubt that this will work, given the mistakes to their order they have experienced at KFC.

The caption of the main post reads: “Fast food restaurants, among other businesses probably sit around and wonder why their credit card processing fees are so high, and why people do chargebacks.”

In the comments, people claim that this policy change will give employees more room to mess up orders without serious repercussions.

If a customer cannot demand their money back for a botched order, there is no real consequence if an order is wrong the first time, customers fear.

One person said: “KFC in my area is really, really bad. Not the food (more than usual that is), the EMPLOYEES.

“It’s like they eff up every order on purpose, as a game. Your correct order is on the attached receipt.

“Inside, something is missing and something else is an item you didn’t order & wasn’t on the slip.

“And whatever extras you ask for – sauces, forks, etc – good luck.

“The photo above is basically giving employees permission to FA as much as they want with no repercussions.”

Another slammed: “Customer service in the USA went from the best in the world to the equivalent of a third world country in less than a decade

“I’ll take the refund every time because I do not trust people after complaining that something is wrong.”

POLICY DEFENDERS

However, there were some that called out fast food diners for being too entitled.

A few comments said that customers on the other extreme can demand refunds without merit.

One defender wrote: “On the flip side of this people are extremely entitled.

“I had someone today demand a refund because they did not receive and item that does not come with their order that they assumed does for some reason they were unable to articulate.

“When I explained to them that they did not pay for the item they threw a tantrum about how they want their money back or they’ll call the police.

“They don’t want any of their food any more.

“If we refunded every time someone demands a refund we would not be in business.”

The US Sun has contacted KFC for comment on the policy, but did not hear back right away.

KFC sign stating they no longer issue refunds, but will make it right if customers are dissatisfied.
