A SUSPECT has been shot by armed cops after multiple people were stabbed at a synagogue on the holiest day of Jewish calendar.
Officers rushed to the scene of Heaton Park synagogue in Crumpsall, on the outskirts of Manchester this morning.

The suspect did not gain access to the building and was shot at the scene by armed police.
His condition is not known, but he is believed to be alive.
It’s not clear how many people have been injured.
Mayor Andy Burnham told BBC Radio Manchester a “serious incident” took place and the immediate danger is over.
He says police dealt with the matter quickly and he has asked people to avoid the area.
Full details of what has happened are yet to be revealed.
The North West Ambulance Service said: “Following reports of an incident on Middleton Road in Crumpsall, the trust has dispatched resources to the scene.
“We are currently assessing the situation and working with other members of the emergency services.
“Our priority is to ensure people receive the medical help they need as quickly as possible.”
Yom Kippur is the holiest day of the year in Judaism.
Large numbers of Jewish people attend synagogues and fast on this day.
