SATURDAY’S Los Angeles Dodgers game featured a controversial National Anthem.
Dominican singer Nezza was scheduled to sing the National Anthem in front of a packed crowd.

Nezza wanted to perform the anthem in Spanish ahead of the matchup against the San Francisco Giants, but claims the team told her not to.
She went ahead and did it anyway to show solidarity with ICE protesters in Los Angeles.
Vanessa Hernandez, Nezza’s real name, pulled off her tribute on “No Kings Day,” a country-wide demonstration of protests against President Donald Trump‘s immigration policies.
She gave a look inside the moment that the Dodgers staff told her to sing the anthem in English before she defied that order.
“Para mi gente,” she captioned the post, which translates to “for my people.”
“I stand with you.”
While the Dodgers didn’t want Hernandez to perform in Spanish, many of the team’s fans showered her in support for the defiant act.
“Way to make the Latina/Hispanic heritage proud!” one fan said.
“Disappointed in the dodgers and proud of you!!!!” another fan said.
“So many of us protested in large groups yesterday. You did it by yourself. Incredibly brave,” a third fan said.
It’s safe to say she has the support of some players too, as Kike Hernandez shared a message of support for LA protesters.
“I may not be Born & Raised, but this city adopted me as one of their own,” he wrote.
“I am saddened and infuriated by what’s happening in our country and our city.
“Los Angeles and Dodger fans have welcomed me, supported me and shown me nothing but kindness and love.
“This is my second home. And I cannot stand to see our community being violated, profiled, abused and ripped apart.
“ALL people deserve to be treated with respect, dignity and human rights. #CityOfImmigrants.”
However, some Dodgers faithful were unhappy with Nezza’s public protest.
“Total lack of respect by @Nezza,” one said.
“If the @Dodgers invite Nezza back to Dodger Stadium for another reimagining of our Star Spangled Banner I know I won’t be the only one who stays away,” another fan said.
“After Nezza singing [in Spanish] and not being banned forever, I will never attend another Dodger game,” a third said.
Hernandez posted a follow-up video after her original went viral to explain the situation.
Through tears she suggested that the Dodgers have banned her from the stadium after the protest.
“Thank you for all the sweet messages,” she said in the video.
“I love you guys so much. Safe to say I am never allowed in that stadium again.”
However, the LA Times claims Hernandez was not punished for the protest and will be allowed back in Dodger Stadium.
