Ledbetter Trial; Keep KELOLAND warm; cool temps ahead

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Here’s a look at this morning’s top stories for KELOLAND On the Go.

It could be the final hearing before Jimmie Ledbetter goes on trial later this month. Ledbetter is accused of murdering Angie Scholl one year ago this month. According to court documents, the victim had filed for divorce and changed the locks to her Sioux Falls home just days before her death.

Keep KELOLAND Warm is off and running. Your donations of new and gently used coats will help people in need during the cold months ahead.

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission announced that it will not take fraud complaints or help block spam calls during the government shutdown. That is unfortunate because, according to the Better Business Bureau, we can expect an increase in fraud. After all, the government shutdown creates opportunities for scammers.

It’s going to be a hot and dry start to the weekend, with temperatures in the 90s today, but cooler weather will enter KELOLAND the beginning of next week.
