A LEGENDARY grocery chain with 261 stores in the US has launched massive 50% off sales at five locations set to close.
Three states will be impacted by the closures that are part of something much bigger happening at the company.

Harris Teeter has confirmed that five of its stores will be shutting.
The large majority are set to close by July 20, and the last one by August 4.
Until the stores are closed, customers can get 50% off the inventory.

The parent company is aiming to close 60 Harris Teeter stores across the next 18 months.
Kroger said that the closures have come after a “careful consideration and strategic market review.”
One of the stores closing can be found in Bethesda, Maryland.
Harris Teeter sent an email to members at the Maryland store alerting them of the upcoming closure.
“After careful consideration, we have decided to close this location. The store closing date will be on or before July 20, 2025.”
The North Bethesda Center Harris Teeter is located at 11845 Old Georgetown Rd., Bethesda, Md.
This particular location has operated as a Harris Teeter since September 2008.
“We look forward to continuing to serve you at one or more of our many area locations. Directions from your location are available on either harristeeter.com or through our mobile app,” the company added.
The store is operating its usual business hours, 6am to 11pm, until it closes.
A new tenant for the space has not been announced yet.

- 3600 S. Glebe Rd., Suite W100 Arlington, Virginia, 22202 – closing by Aug. 4
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
The company has said that roughly 100 to 200 employees work at each of the five locations shutting.
They have all been given a transfer opportunity.
A spokesperson for the company told USA Today that it would not be releasing a full list of closures.
Instead, several closures have been identified through local media reports.
