LifeLight draws big crowd to Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — It’s been a busy day at Nelson Park.

“We are excited. It’s a great turnout happening already, even early in the day. The community is coming together. We got pastors and churches coming together to make this happen, and it’s just a great atmosphere out here today,” LifeLight CEO Josh Brewer said.

One of the artists who concertgoers got to enjoy was Seth Addison.

“Just the scale of it was awesome. Just getting together tens of thousands of people just for the sake of glorifying Jesus, giving people an opportunity to know him better and to give their lives to God. just awesome. So honored to be a part,” Addison said.

The headliner was We The Kingdom. It’s the group’s first time in Sioux Falls. Band members spent time before their set meeting fans and signing autographs.

“We are so fired up to be here. We’ve heard amazing things about this festival over the years. We love South Dakota. It’s so beautiful here, and we have gotten to hang out with folks who started LifeLight, and they are unbelievable people. It is a huge honor to be here today,” band member Scott Cash said.

However, the event wasn’t just a concert. There were plenty of options for food and activities for kids like inflatables and action sports.

“We always say LifeLight is about more than just a music festival. It’s an experience out here,” Brewer said.

“It’s for everybody, no matter what age or what you come for. They really do a great job on teaching people about Jesus,” concertgoer Carrie Houchins said.

And for event organizers like Brewer, the day is also about bringing people together.

“In today’s culture, unity is very difficult, and we’re seeing that happen right before our very eyes. It’s a beautiful thing,” Brewer said.

All while having a good time.

There were also a number of local pastors and speakers. The event was free to attend.
