North Carolina were well beaten 14-48 at the Kenan Memorial Stadium on Tuesday.

However, fans were more stunned by the setup for Belichick’s post-match press conference.

The NFL legend was surrounded by inflated balloons as he stood at the podium to answer the media’s questions.

Fans flocked to social media to poke fun at the bizarre party vibe after the heavy defeat.

Some claimed it looked like it had been setup like a child’s birthday party while others bet that it was organised by Belichick’s girlfriend, Jordon Hudson.

One fan posted: “Looks like a 7-year-old’s birthday party after a 34-point loss.”

A second wrote: “Maybe someone should have run in and taken the balloons down before the press conference started.”

A third commented: “WTF is that press conference setting? Is he at the fall formal?”

A fourth said: “How much you wanna bet that Jordon Hudson designed that post-game set-up.”

A fifth joked: “Are they taking Senior Prom pictures after?”

Another added: “Jordon Hudson went full baby shower balloons for the post-game press conference. OH MY GOD.”

In 511 NFL games, Belichick never gave up more than 47 points in one game.

Fans at the match supporting UNC were fuming during the match as many of them stormed out of the stadium.

One fan that was in attendance was Belichick’s former star Randy Moss who was pictured next to Husdon.
