Teinowitz was the former host of Mac, Jurko, and Harry on ESPN 100 in Chicago.

He was part of the show from 2001 to 2009.

Teinowitz’s death was reported by the Chicago Sun-Times on Monday.

“Harry Teinowitz, part of the popular ‘Mac, Jurko and Harry’ show that aired from 2001 to ’09 on ESPN 1000, has died at 64,” the publication wrote.

“Teinowitz had a liver transplant within the last two years, and he suffered from heart and liver problems.”

The Chicago Sun-Times added that Teinowitz was part of a show that earned high ratings and “often dominated in afternoons.”

Agrest hosted the program alongside Dan McNeil and John Jurkovic.

The publication also noted that Agrest and McNeil “were polar opposites, which led to several on-air incidents” which gave the audience plenty of entertainment.

Fans sent tributes to the late Teinowitz on social media.

“A Chicago legend. May he rest in piece,” one wrote.

“Ah man. Listened to him since I was a little kid. He was in chicago sports radio for so long. Always funny. Always interesting. Always energetic,” another commented.

“Sad news. RIP,” a third said.

“One of the funniest and nicest guys in Chiago sports media history. RIP Harry,” a fourth added.

After his radio days, Teinowitz debuted his first Broadway-style play called When Harry Met Rehab.

The play was based on Teinowitz’s experience going through rehab after a drunk driving arrest in 2011.

He called the play “a comedy that takes sobriety seriously.”

The Athletic’s Jon Greenberg commented on the passing of Teinowitz.

The reporter shared that Teinowitz’s death was “sudden” and that his funeral was on Monday.

“This news had been going around Chicago sports media circles today,” Greenberg wrote. “Very, very sad. It was sudden.

“His funeral is Monday.”
