Villagers in Lopburi are calling for urgent action after a 20 year old man was accused of repeatedly abusing animals, raising fears for community safety.
The disturbing allegations emerged after a video clip circulated online showing the man sexually assaulting a female dog in a bathroom near his home in Wang Khon Khwang, Khok Samrong district. The footage, filmed by a resident, was shared privately before spreading further, prompting widespread concern.
One villager told reporters:
“It’s happened many times already. It’s not just dogs; there are chickens, cows, buffalo, and ducks. No one believed me, so I took a video as evidence.”

Residents claim the man has a history of theft and assault, and although previously prosecuted, he was released due to what police described as psychiatric traits. Villagers fear this history, coupled with the latest allegations, makes him a threat not only to animals but potentially to vulnerable people, including children and the elderly.
A witness recounted that the suspect had even stolen a chicken from a coop before assaulting it, and similar incidents were reported involving ducks, cows and buffalo. However, no formal complaints were filed until now, partly due to disbelief and fear among locals.

Animal welfare group Watchdog Foundation has now urged anyone with evidence to come forward.
“Even if they claim to be insane or hold a psychiatric certificate, they cannot completely escape the law.
“As long as the court has not declared them insane, the perpetrator is still considered a person who can be held liable for animal cruelty.”
The foundation stressed that animal life must be respected and vowed to pursue the case vigorously.
“Such actions are a serious criminal offence. We are prepared to prosecute every step of the way to ensure the maximum punishment possible and to prevent further victims of innocent animals.”
Villagers say they have reached breaking point and are appealing to officials to intervene before the situation escalates further, reported KhaoSod.
For now, their community remains on edge, awaiting decisive action from local officials.
