Los Angeles Chargers being sued by OWN fans after announcing major NFL schedule change for 2025 season

THE Los Angeles Chargers have been sued by a fan over the moving of a marquee game.

A lawsuit filed alleges the team advertised a game against the Kansas City Chiefs as part of a season-ticket package.

The game was then moved to Brazil as part of the NFL’s international series.

Plaintiff Devin Abney has accused the Chargers of breach of contract and false advertising.

Front Office Sports first reported on the lawsuit, which was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

It is unclear how much the suit is seeking, but it includes attorney fees, restitution and civil penalties.

The U.S. Sun has contacted the Los Angeles Chargers for comment.

According to the lawsuit, the Chargers advertised nine home games and charged fans accordingly.

It includes a graphic which is alleged to be from the team website.

And that images advertises season tickets for 2025 with logos of all the teams Los Angeles has home games against.

One of the logos is of the Kansas City Chiefs.

But in another graphic included in the suit, the Chiefs logo has been replaced by the New Orleans Saints.

The Chargers will play the Saints in a preseason game at SoFi Stadium.

But the Chiefs showdown will now take place in Sao Paulo, Brazil on Friday 5 September.

The lawsuit read, “Included in the advertisements were logos for the matchup between the Chargers and theKansas City Chiefs, a much-anticipated game against a division rival.

“Given the Chiefs’ star-power and recent success (having won two of the last three NFL Super Bowls), the home game represented the most valuable of the season tickets.

“Potential and existing Season Ticket Holders reasonably assumed by the graphics in the advertisements that the season ticket plans would include the game between the Chargers and the Kansas City Chiefs.”

The Front Office Sports report said that “season-ticket agreements include language warning the NFL may move a home game.”

The report adds that they also include a class-action waiver which says fans have to deal with grievances individually.

But team policy states, “if the team play the game elsewhere than SoFi Stadium or if it is cancelled and not rescheduled, the sole remedy shall be refund of the original ticket purchase price.”

The plaintiff’s attorney Rana Ayazi issued a short statement to Front Office Sports.

It read, “We are hopeful that the Chargers will make this right and honor the trust of their loyal fans.”
