Love Island USA star Huda Mustafa’s fate on show revealed as producers are ‘upset’ with her for controversial past video

LOVE Island USA star Huda Mustafa’s fate on the show has been revealed after she sparked fan outrage over a resurfaced controversial video.

Huda, 24, left fans divided over if she lip synced a racial slur in a resurfaced TikTok video.

After Yulissa Escobar and Cierra Ortega were removed from the Peacock series over their racism scandals, The U.S. Sun can exclusively reveal if Huda will meet a similar fate.

A production source told The U.S. Sun, “Huda has created a whole lot of tension, and that post is very embarrassing and puts us, once again, in a tense situation.

“But she doesn’t say the word clearly, and we had to have a meeting with her, asking her to not create any controversy as we are about to wrap the season.

“Huda is someone with a very intense personality, and we had to tell her that she crossed a line on that post and that she could get backlash after the show ends.”

The insider continued to claim, “People are really fed up with some bad tension that she created, and that post is very, very embarrassing even if she doesn’t say the word loud and clear.

“We thought we were done after Cierra’s situation, but we have to handle this one now, and that is quite exhausting.”

A second show source confirmed that while production is “extremely upset,” she will not be removed from the show ahead of Sunday night’s finale.

“We had to have a meeting with her,” the source claimed. “We have been having a very tense season, and that adds another big wave of tension as we are about to end the season, and that is really, really exhausting to deal with situations like this.

“We are literally looking forward to the end of the season, and to get done with this kind of controversies, that has been giving such a bad image and a terrible vibe to this season.”

Huda went from villain to fan-favorite this season.

She was involved in a toxic romance with original cast member Jeremiah Brown, where she often got into curse-filled fights with him and showed off her jealous side.

She was even dubbed “hurricane Huda” by contestants and viewers.

When Jeremiah was voted off the villa, she started over and viewers saw a different side to her in Casa Amor.

She is now in a couple with Chris Seeley.

CONTROVERSIAL VIDEO

In a resurfaced video from Huda’s TikTok account, she lip syncs along to Elijah the Boy’s Over You.

The lyrics go, “Tell that n**** that you cheated with that, that n**** ain’t me.”

Fans were divided over if Huda actually said the racial slur while lip syncing, as one fan commented, “She literally didn’t say it, she just kept her mouth open, cuz if she probably closed it, it would have made her look like she said it.”

“She literally [just said] “that… ain’t me” she skipped over the word..?” a second wrote.

A third defended, “She didn’t say it.”

A fourth insisted, “Slow it down… she didn’t say it.”

Not all viewers came to Huda’s defense, as one claimed, “Okay yall I love her but… it’s obvious she said it yall cmon now.”

A second alleged, “The second time she said it!! I saw her tongue move.”

And a final fan asked, “So the dumped Cierra for a slur… what are they going to do with her?”

A rep for Huda did not immediately respond to The U.S. Sun’s request for comment and the show has not addressed the latest scandal.

CIERRA SENT HOME

This comes after Cierra, 24, was sent home on Sunday night’s episode of Love Island USA

An Instagram Story from Cierra’s account resurfaced last week.

The post read, “Botox isn’t for everyone but I love it for me!!!

“I am incredibly expressive with my face and I catch myself frowning for no reason throughout the day when I’m focusing on something or thinking too hard lol.

“I can also be a little ch**ky when I laugh/smile so I love getting a mini brow lift to open up my eyes and get that snatched look.”

After days of fans demanding she be sent home, she was removed from the villa off-camera on Sunday night’s episode due to a “personal situation.”

The U.S. Sun previously reported producers held crisis meetings to decide whether or not to fire Cierra last week.

“We will hold a meeting to decide what we should do… but it doesn’t look great at all for Cierra as a lot of us want to take her out of the show as soon as possible,” the insider said.

“We kicked Yulissa out of the show at the beginning of the season because of racial slurs too.

“This kind of behavior and use of this kind of word is unacceptable, and we condemn all kinds of racism, discrimination and insults towards anyone.”

Cierra responded to the scandal in an Instagram video on Wednesday night.

She began, “I want to first start by addressing, not just anyone that I have hurt or deeply offended, but most importantly, the entire Asian community.

“I am deeply, truly, honestly, so sorry. I had no idea that the word held as much pain, as much harm, and came with the history that it did, or I never would have used it.

“I had no ill intention when I was using it. But that’s absolutely no excuse, because intent doesn’t excuse ignorance.”

Cierra said she had “no idea” the word was a slur when she used it in 2024 until a follower informed her.

She then provided screenshots of her apologizing to the follower and vowing to avoid using the slur in the future.

She said of being removed from the villa, “I think this is something that deserved punishment, and the punishment has absolutely been received.”

YULISSA’S REMOVAL

First to be removed from the island this season was Yulissa Escobar.

The original cast member was sent home after the first episode aired when a racial slur resurfaced on social media.

Yulissa broke her silence with an apology, as she wrote, “First, I want to apologize for using a word I had no right in using. Podcast clips from years ago have recently resurfaced, and I want to address it directly.

“In those clips, I used a word I never should’ve used, a racial slur. I used it ignorantly, not fully understanding the weight, history, or pain behind it. I wasn’t trying to be offensive or harmful, but I recognize now that intention doesn’t excuse impact. And the impact of that word is real. It’s tied to generations of trauma, and it is not mine to use.

“At the time, I was speaking casually in conversation, not thinking deeply or critically about what I was saying. But that doesn’t take away from how wrong it was. The truth is, I didn’t know better then, but I do now. I’ve taken the time to reflect, to learn, and to grow from that moment.

“I’ve changed a lot since then, not just in how I speak, but in how I show up, how I carry myself, and how I honor the experiences of others. Growth means recognizing when you were wrong, even if it’s uncomfortable, and choosing to move forward with humility and accountability.”

She ended, “To those who are disappointed or offended, I understand and I apologize. I am sorry.”

She then posted how cancel culture is not “accountability” and is instead “online brutality,” as she has received death threats

CASTING CHANGES

The U.S. Sun previously reported on how the show will avoid making the same mistake with casting next season.

An insider claimed, “Starting next season, we are going to get some people working on looking way more into the social media presence and the articles, pictures and public things that potential contestants did before trying to get onto the show.

“We are going to hire more people to dig into people’s past and things they did in public and really brush out their social media and old posts to see if anything controversial came out of there.

“We will be really digging way more and deeply in each participants past, and make sure that their ‘records’ are clean of racist, xenophobic or sexist words or behavior.

“If there is anything racist, sexist or offensive in there, the person won’t be allowed to be considered as a potential participant on the show. We can’t have any more situations where we deal with racist behavior.”

The source continued, “We are going to make some adjustments for the recruitment of new participants, in order to not have to deal with bad stuff like this, which has given a bad image to the show and to the brand.

“We absolutely cannot have another season like the one we are about to wrap up.”

The Love Island USA season finale airs on Sunday.
