LOVE Island USA star Nicolas ‘Nic’ Vansteenberghe has finally revealed the truth behind his ‘cold sore’ conspiracy after a speculated ‘STD breakout’ on the show.
Jacksonville nurse Nic, 24, insisted he has never contracted the virus, instead describing a villa incident that led to a blister forming on his lip.

Speaking on the Chicks in the Office podcast, he said, “I actually saw a lot of videos about my lip being busted and like I have, you know, diseases.
“Let me just say, we were playing American football. This is my statement.
“Charlie [Georgio], being from the UK, has never really played, so I was defending him on a route and he kind of headbutted me in the lip. And I got this mean blister thing from getting hit by his head.”
Nic was quick to dismiss the rumors fueled by AI-generated videos and fan theories, adding, “If people could please stop making those videos about me having all sorts of diseases, that would be great.
“Yeah, but no, it was from American football.”
Nic’s co-star Austin Shepard also had a mark on his lip, which fans feared was an outbreak.
But he also shut the rumors down.

NIC’S JOURNEY
Nic entered the villa as an original islander on day one.
He quickly became a fan favorite, forming connections with Cierra Ortega and Olandria Carthen.
During the Casa Amor twist, Nic was initially eliminated after not being chosen by any of the new arrivals.
However, he was later brought back into the villa.
Nic’s journey concluded when he and Olandria were named runners-up of the season, falling just short of the winning couple, Amaya Espinal and Bryan Arenales.
At one point in the season, he was called out by his mom for “having sex on camera” in an X-rated scene.
Nic had shared an intimate moment under the covers with Cierra Ortega as several fellow castmates were sleeping nearby.
However, Nic was left completely shocked when his mother and sister jetted to Fiji – confronting their loved-one over his raunchy antics.
In a clip that has been circulating on TikTok, his mom asked, “Nicolas, in public like that?”
His sibling was not backwards in coming forward either as she joked, “We’ve seen you in the sheets. We’ve caught the night cameras.”
However, the reality star shrugging off his family’s comments as he exclaimed: “Oh, sorry about that.
“We move on from that,” before insisting that the incident didn’t count as ‘public.’
The Love Island USA finale for season 7 aired on Sunday, July 13 with Amaya Espinal and Bryan Arenales announced as the winners.
Olandria, 27, and Nic, 24, came in second place.
Coming in third place was Huda, 24, and Chris, 27, while Iris, 25, and Pepe, 27, came in fourth.
