The Toronto-based bank, known as BMO, has set a September 8, 2025, cutoff for the deal.
One offer hands out $400 to new customers who open a personal checking account online.
To qualify, they’ll need to choose either the BMO Smart Advantage Checking or the BMO Smart Money Checking account.
Both options come with perks designed to appeal to everyday customers.
The Smart Advantage Checking account has no monthly maintenance fee.
The Smart Money Checking account is free of overdraft charges but does carry a $5 monthly service fee for anyone 25 and older.
To actually secure the $400 payout, new account holders must receive $4,000 in qualifying direct deposits within the first 90 days.
The bonus will then be deposited roughly 100 days after the account is opened.
There are also small charges that come with the accounts, including a $2 paper statement fee and a $3 fee for using a non-BMO ATM.
Customers who overdraw can be hit with a $15 overdraft fee, unless they hold a Smart Money account or have an Overdraft Protection Line of Credit.
On top of the personal checking perks, there’s another deal for business owners.
BMO is offering up to $750 in free cash for those who open a business checking account.
The bank states that entrepreneurs can manage their accounts on the go, deposit checks, pay bills, and transfer funds through its mobile app.
Cardholders also get access to more than 40,000 ATMs across the country and over 1,000 branches nationwide.
How to claim BMO checking offer and savings reward
- Open Smart Advantage or Smart Money Checking
- Deposit $4,000 in direct deposits within 90 days
- Get $400 bonus after about 100 days
- Smart Money Checking: $5 monthly fee (25+)

Additional support is available in person, with bankers ready to help customers meet financial goals.
Like the personal accounts, the business options come with standard fees.
That includes charges for paper statements and for requesting check images.
The offers give Americans a chance to grab extra cash, but only if they act before the September 8 deadline.
BMO also offers the Relationship Checking account, an interest-bearing option with perks based on tier level – Silver, Gold, Platinum, or Premier.
Rewards can include fee rebates, boosted savings rates, credit card bonuses, and discounts on loan rates.
