STURGIS, SD (KELO) — Meade County sheriff’s deputies were busy Friday on the first day of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
According to the sheriff’s office’s Facebook page, deputies responded to 186 calls for service on Friday, which was up from the 174 calls on the same day last year.
Traffic stops were down: 66 on Friday compared to 96 last year.
Deputies made 8 DUI arrests Friday compared with three a year ago.
32 people ended up in jail on various charges, compared with 34 during last year’s rally.
