THE Pittsburgh Steelers have been tipped to cut ties with Aaron Rodgers in favour of a highly rated College star.
Veteran Rodgers signed for the Steelers in June, penning a one-year deal worth $19.5million.

But some are not expecting the ties to last very long – Rodgers will turn 42-years-old midway through the season.
So Andrew Harbaugh of Buccaneers Wire believes the Steelers may look to offload Rodgers in favour of signing Texas Longhorns prospect Arch Manning.
He claims there could trade up for the No.1 overall pick in order to land the quarterback.
Harbaugh said, “The NFL Draft will be in Pittsburgh this coming year, and the team and city are desperate for a new chapter in their quarterback history.
“While they have gone through a handful of attempts since the retirement of Ben Roethlisberger, they need an actual high-potential replacement, and that is Arch Manning.
“They have the draft capital to be aggressive, and even with this trade, they would still have a total of nine picks in next year’s draft.”
ESPN’s Ryan Clark also believes Rodgers’ arrival could be damaging long-term as he argues the former Packers star will play just well enough for the Steelers to miss out on a top QB in the NFL Draft.
He said, “Aaron Rodgers signing with the Steelers is the worse case scenario.
“I think he’ll play good enough and the team will be just good enough to miss out on a franchise guy next year!
“One of the greatest players of the era, & one of its greatest head coaches… just years too late.”
Rodgers, 41, has already made a big request since joining the Steelers.
Rodgers has high standards for his wideouts, and Steelers receivers coach Zach Azzanni welcomes the “challenge” of the 20-year veteran’s demands of his players.
“I love that challenge,” Azanni said, per ESPN’s Brooke Pryor.
“I like that.
“I’d rather have someone that’s dialed into the detain in the perimeter, and those guys ultimately have to be on the same page.
“I understand that he’s hard on receivers, and I like that because I’m hard on receivers.”
