The No. 25 Missouri squad and the Louisiana team were originally scheduled to play at 3:00 pm CT on Saturday.
But the matchup will now kick off at noon, Mizzou announced.
The school made the change due to heat concerns in the Columbia area and “after consultation with the National Weather Service and our public safety partners,” the release read.
Multiple weather outlets project the Columbia area to be around 96-97 degrees around the original time.
At noon, forecasts predict the weather to be close to 90-91 degrees.
“Nothing is more important to us than the health and safety of our student-athletes and the game-day experience for our fans,” Mizzou Director of Athletics Laird Veatch said in a statement.
“We are incredibly grateful to our fans for their understanding and flexibility as we make this adjustment.”
ESPN+ and SEC Network+ will still broadcast the contest.
Digital tickets for Saturday’s game will automatically change to the updated time.
Still, fans have to enter the correct side of Memorial Stadium.
Gates will open at 10:00 am.
The Tiger Walk, which refers to Missou’s team walk as fans line the route to cheer them, will begin 30 minutes earlier.
The Tigers enter the matchup with a 2-0 record.
They are coming off an electric 42-31 rivalry win over the Kansas Jayhawks.

Missouri was down 15 points in the first quarter before securing the win.
The school is now in the AP top 25.
This game marks the first time the Tigers and the Ragin’ Cajuns have played each other.
Louisiana is currently 1-1 and is coming off a win over McNeese in Week 2.
