Multi-purpose privacy fence is ‘perfect solution’ to eye sores & nosy neighbors – it’s cheaper than Amazon at $49.99

AT FIRST glance, a certain privacy fence available for purchase online might not appear all that different from others sold by its competitors.

But a two-panel DIY model sold by the internet-based retailer Lilypelle could likely be worth a second look – especially considering its multi-use capabilities.

LILYPELLE

The Lilypelle two-panel 48-in x 48-in privacy fence is made from solid, sturdy pine, a wood known for its versatility and aesthetic qualities.

Its uses can range from protecting (or even hiding) behemoths like cumbersome AC units to shielding your backyard paradise from unwanted onlookers.

It also comes equipped with metal stakes that can be wedged 10 inches into the ground, allowing the fence the ability to withstand high winds.

Even more attractive is its price point, at least compared to other sellers.

The privacy fence, which is also available for purchase on Amazon at $89.91 for the same amount of panels, is exceedingly cheaper via another site, Excelia, at $49.99.

According to Excelia’s product page, the initial price for the fence is listed at slightly over $105 – a 53% markdown from the original cost.

WHAT SHOPPERS HAVE TO SAY

At least one shopper had nothing but praise for the quality of the Lilypelle fence on Excelia’s site page.

“Really nicely made,” praised the customer, adding that it was made of “quality material and [was] easy to assemble,” and they would “definitely recommend” it.

Even Amazon users, who ordered the fence panels at a higher markup, appear to be fans of the product.

One reviewer noted that they wished they had purchased the privacy fence years ago, calling it “a huge improvement” to an unnamed “eyesore that is right in our front yard.”

Despite the overwhelming positive commentary, at least a couple of customers had complaints – namely, that it wasn’t as easy to assemble as advertised.

HOW DOES IT HOLD UP TO COMPETITORS?

Though the consensus over the Lilypelle fence seemingly leans towards the positive, that doesn’t mean it’s devoid of some heavy competition.

For example, look no further than The Home Depot’s Vevor no-dig privacy fence, which has a slight price point advantage over Excelia’s Lilypelle deal.

The big box chain’s version sells for $44.99, a few dollars less than the latter retailer.

The Home Depot’s Vevor fence also gives you a little more bang for your buck, with dimensions measuring at 16.4 ft x 4 ft.

PRIVACY PIECES

The Home Depot, Walmart, Lowe’s, and more are all places selling affordable privacy fences.

The Home Depot:

  • White Privacy Vinyl Fence Panel – buy it here
  • Pressure-Treated Pine Dog-Ear Fence Panel – buy it here
  • Black Privacy Fence – buy it here

Walmart:

  • Fence Privacy Screen – buy it here
  • Retractable Side Awning Sun Shade Privacy Screen – buy it here

Lowes:

  • Outdoor Privacy Screen – buy it here
  • Wood Outdoor Privacy Screen – buy it here

That being said, a possible explanation for The Home Depot’s no-dig deal might boil down to the material it’s made from.

Unlike the Lilypelle fence’s solid wood construction, the Vevor model is made from woven reeds held together by cotton thread.

In the end, whatever customers choose to buy might simply boil down to personal preference.
