Mum who ‘let 10ft alligators eat her 12-year-old son also gave her newborn cocaine’ as she’s branded ‘danger to society’

A MUM who allegedly let alligators maul her 12-year-old son to death has now been accused of giving her newborn baby cocaine.

Hilda Vasquez was arrested after her son Bryan was found submerged in a lagoon surrounded by gators – with the 34-year-old now being dubbed a “danger to society”.

The terrifying reptile attack unfolded in New Orleans East, before Bryan’s body was recovered from the water on August 26.

Vasquez was charged with second-degree cruelty to a juvenile and negligent homicide.

But in a shocking twist, prosecutors have now claimed in court that Vasquez is a danger to society due to several instances of alleged child abuse.

They said on Monday that Vasquez and her newborn baby tested positive for cocaine in July, citing a social services probe.

Authorities also claimed she had two previous charges of cruelty to juveniles, after Bryan suffered a fractured skull and broken legs in 2014.

Bryan, who is autistic, had permanent injuries as a result, before he went missing last month on August 14 at 5.20am.

Local cops found his remains and claimed he was attacked by an alligator after wandering unsupervised out of his home.

Bryan, who was nonverbal and occasionally sneaked out of the house, reportedly climbed out of his bedroom window, according to The Advocate.

He was last seen alive in haunting footage near a lagoon about an hour after leaving home.

Tragic Bryan was reported missing at 10.20am.

The gruelling search continued for two weeks until the boy’s corpse was found just a few blocks from his home.

The boy’s body was discovered in a nearby canal not far from where he was last seen in surveillance footage.

Bryan’s body had been submerged under the water by 10ft alligators, before authorities used drones to locate his remains.

The massive reptiles needed to be distracted before they could recover the body.

A volunteer who found Bryan’s body said authorities believe the alligators were in the area because locals fed them scraps.

On Monday officials ordered Vasquez to be held without bond, a week after she was ordered to stay away from her three living children.

Police previously said: “There has been a pattern of both negligence and abuse over Bryan’s 12 years.

“We believe that we can prove that that pattern of negligence and abuse led to … undue pain and suffering on his part.”

Social services removed Bryan from her care, but he later returned.

Cops have vowed to get justice for him.
