Actress Neha Harsora, who plays the lead role of Sailee in Star Plus’ Udne Ki Aasha, produced by Rahul Tewary and Rolling Tales Productions, holds Ganesh Chaturthi very close to her heart, as the festival brings with it immense joy, devotion, and togetherness. Every year, Mumbai transforms into a city of lights, sounds, and celebrations as people welcome Lord Ganesha into their homes and communities. For Neha, the festival is more than just rituals—it is a beautiful blend of faith, family traditions, and the vibrant energy of the city.

Talking about her celebration, Neha shares, “Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated in such a grand way. Usually, we bring Ganpati to our factory, but this year we are not getting one. In my area, I get to see such huge idols, and I just love this festival. These 10 days make Mumbai come alive.”

She adds that even though she may not have Ganpati at home this year, the grandeur of the festival in her neighbourhood fills her with festive spirit.

What makes the celebration even more special for Neha is the ritual her family follows on the day of Visarjan. “It’s our ritual that on the day of Visarjan, we have a family dinner with my siblings, mom, dad, and my best friend. We always go together for dinner. During visarjan, we also have a flower shower between the buildings, as most Ganpati idols pass from there, so it’s the perfect spot,” she recalls fondly.

Festivals are also incomplete without their special treats, and for Neha, modaks top the list. “I love modaks and enjoy having any kind of prasad. In recent years, we see a modern twist with a lot of varieties of modaks, but they still retain their authentic touch,” she says.

Neha also reflects on how the festival continues to unite people across generations. “I am sure the upcoming generation will keep it alive because the celebrations are so grand.”

Happy Ganesh Chaturthi to all!!
