Cole Strange was waived by New England after three seasons with the side and is set to become a free agent.
Strange, 27, was superseded by rookie third-round pick Jared Wilson in the final preseason match.
The Patriots conceded 28 unanswered points in the second half as they were blown away by the New York Giants on Friday.
Head coach Mike Vrabel cut the lineman from the 53-man squad ahead of the upcoming NFL season.
This leaves New England with significant depth concerns along their offensive line.
With Strange gone, the team have only nine offensive lineman, including the aforementioned Wilson.
Beneath Wilson, four-year veteran Ben Brown will serve as a back up at left guard.
In contrast, they have eight receivers on the initial roster.
The No. 29 overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft never fully nailed down his place in Foxboro, Massachusetts.
Strange was a surprise first-round pick by Bill Belichick in his penultimate year in charge.
He was predicted to be drafted on day two as a developmental pick.
But the six time Super Bowl champion coach shocked everyone with his early selection.
Strange started all 17 games as a rookie, but has only featured in 13 over the past two seasons.
A mix of injuries and poor performances have led to his release.
They also waived two players from the 2025 NFL Draft.

Jones is a cornerback and punt returner, who was named first-team All-Pro as a punt returner in his rookie season.
A shoulder injury ended his 2023 season in Week 2.
