New England Patriots icon Julian Edelman speaks on potentially joining Fox NFL Sunday after Jimmy Johnson retirement

NEW England Patriots legend Julian Edelman revealed whether he’s interested in being part of Fox NFL Sunday in the future.

Edelman works on Fox NFL Kickoff – a football pregame show that takes place before Fox NFL Sunday, which will be without the now-retired Jimmy Johnson.

After his football retirement in 2020, Edelman joined Fox Sports as an NFL analyst on Fox NFL Kickoff before the 2023-24 season.

The three-time Super Bowl champion provides his football opinions alongside host Charissa Thompson and Charles Woodson, and others.

At the age of 39, Edelman is one of the youngest analysts out there, and his future could be at Fox’s primary pre-game show, Fox NFL Sunday.

The U.S. Sun spoke to Edelman at Fanatics Fest in New York City last week and asked him whether he sees himself working on Fox NFL Sunday eventually.

It seems that Edelman is comfortable with his job at Fox NFL Kickoff and is looking forward to the upcoming 2025 season.

“I don’t know. I love what I do. I get to explain the game that I love with people I like working with,” Edelman said.

“Right now, I’m just enjoying Fanatics Fest right here… and excited like everyone else for the start of the season.”

Fox NFL Sunday could have openings in the not-so-distant future.

The Dallas Cowboys legendary head coach Johnson retired from the show after the Super Bowl in February.

He’ll be replaced by Edelman’s former Patriots teammate and icon Rob Gronkowski, who filled in for Johnson during portions of the 2024 season.

The 76-year-old Terry Bradshaw revealed that he’ll retire the next time Fox broadcasts the Super Bowl, which will be when he’s 80.

“I told my wife before I even left the room awhile ago,” Bradshaw said at Super Bowl 59 in February.

“I was sitting there and I said, ‘I’ve got two years left at Fox. I’m 76′.

“OK, so It’s a young man’s game.

“I get that, so I said, if we can get to the next Super Bowl, I’ll be 80.

“I think that’s time.”

Michael Strahan is expected back for the 2025 season, but he has shared his intentions to spend more time with his family and friends.

The futures of Thompson and Erin Andrews are still up in the air as their contracts with Fox are up this summer.

The iconic program Fox NFL Sunday will continue to be under a microscope as it will broadcast its 31st season this fall.

Strahan, Bradshaw, Gronkowski, Howie Long, and host Curt Menefee are all expected to stay on.
