New York Giants announce 8 stars have been cut in major roster clearout just days before season starts

THE New York Giants have been cleaning up shop ahead of the new NFL season.

The Giants, like the rest of their NFL rivals, have been hard at work in pre-season training over the last few weeks.

Several players on the roster have been trying to save their bacon with impressive performances in training camp.

Some have been successful in maintaining their spot on the roster.

EIGHT, however, have failed to make the cut ahead of Tuesday’s 53-man roster deadline.

Wide receivers Jordan Bly, Zach Pacal, and Montrel Washington have been released by the franchise, as have linebackers K.J. Cloyd and Dyontae Johnson.

Defensive back O’Donnell Fortune, offensive line Jaison Williams and center Jimmy Morrissey have also been let go.

American football and Giants fans were quick to comment on the team’s trimming of the fat.

One wrote on X: “Giants making tough cuts.

Another said: “Tough day for those guys. Hope they catch on somewhere else soon.”

And another said: “I’m surprised about Montrell Washington.”

One remarked: “Shocking line up. Damn.”

Another chimed in: “Why release CB O’Donnell Fortune?”

The Giants will kick off their NFL campaign on September 7 away to the Washington Commanders before a trip to Dallas the following weekend to take on the Cowboys.

They’ll play their first home game of the season on September 21 when they welcome the Kansas City Chiefs to the MetLife Stadium.
