THE New York Jets just got a bit bigger.

Former undrafted free agent Harrison Mevis, nicknamed the “Thiccer Kicker,” has signed an NFL contract.

Mevis stands at 5-foot-11 and 243 pounds and had an impressive stint in the UFL.

He went 20-for-21 on kicks with the Birmingham Stallions, only missing from 63 yards.

The 23-year-old hasn’t seen any playing time in the NFL yet, initially signing with the Carolina Panthers before being waived.

That led to his signing in the UFL.

Mevis was exceptional in college, earning All-American honors as a four-year starter.

He made 89 of his 109 field goal attempts in college.

His “Thiccer Kicker” nickname came from Missouri punter Grant McKinniss.

Mevis owns the SEC record for longest field goal at 61 yards, which he hit in 2023.

Jets fans were thrilled to see the new addition to their team and shared their thoughts on social media.

“Jets are back,” one fan said.

“He was great at Mizz! Surprised he didn’t get drafted,” another fan said.

“Dudes an absolute unit,” a third fan said.

“This is what peak male fitness looks like you may not like it but it’s true,” a fourth fan said.

“Getting the opportunity he deserves,” a fifth fan said.

Mevis has joined the Jets following the release of veteran kicker Greg Zurlein.

Mevis will fight with rookie kicker Caden Davis and Anders Carlson for the starting job.

Carlson kicked in five games for the Jets last season.

If he is successful, Mevis will be the third UFL kicker turned NFL starter.

Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey and Detroit Lions kicker Jake Bates came from the UFL and are arguably two of the best kickers in the league.
